Abstract
Substitution of alkaline-earth elements with other metallic elements was attempted in Ca1-x Sr x CuO2. Of the fourteen elements examined (counting vacancy also as one), only Nd successfully replaced Ca and Sr to a small amount at x=0.7. Defect-type perovskite Nd0.05(Ca0.3Sr0.7)0.95CuO y was synthesized at 6 GPa and 920°C as a single phase. This material was semiconducting and did not show superconductivity. Keywords
