Abstract
The response (track-etching rate) of Lexan polycarbonate detectors increases exponentially with the ionization rate of heavy nuclei (). These detectors have been used to measure the charge composition and flux in 1967 of low-energy (200- to 400-MeV/nucleon) cosmic rays from .
