Abstract
Absorption by the forbidden transition 6 1S0-6 3P0 in 199Hg at 265.6 nm has been measured using a tunable, single-frequency ultraviolet probe. Experimental data yield a value of 0.692 ± 0.014 s-1 for the Einstein A coefficient and 2.23 ± 0.08 × 10-10 s-1 cm3 for the self-pressure broadening coefficient.Keywords
