Abstract
Five of the 14 apparently valid spp. of Plasmodium hitherto known from reptiles parasitize members of the family Scincidae in Africa, Brazil and Papua, New Guinea. P. lygosomae is distinguished from P. mexicanum, P. pitmani, and P. lacerfiliae.Keywords
