Vegetative Funktionsstörungen bei schwer verlaufender Polyradikulitis Guillain-Barré-Strohl

Abstract
The signs and symptoms of severe Guillain-Barré-Strohl syndrome are dominated by extensive motor and sensory disorders of the peripheral nervous system. Paralysis of the respiratory muscles is common. Frequently the autonomic system is involved as well, with numerous, often life-threatening, regulatory disorders. Of 68 patients with the disease observed within a span of 5 1/2 years, 21 with such severe forms required intensive care.
