Abstract
Clusters of five linearly condensed Mo6O12 units are contained in the novel indium oxomolybdate In3Mo11O17, direct demonstration of which was accomplished by high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy. Linear polycations In are located between the oxoanions. The results signal a broad chemistry of “oligomeric” clusters (from individual Mo6 octahedra to infinite chains of octahedra) and a multitude of possible polycations of the main group metals. Keywords
