Hesitation Pauses and Juncture Pauses in Speech

Abstract
A psychophysical comparison of speech pause perception thresholds for juncture and hesitation pauses yielded significantly lower thresholds for the latter. On the basis of these and other data, a functional and methodological distinction between these two types of pause is proposed.Keywords
