Abstract
The results of a numerical investigation of the flow of space-charge under non-steady state conditions in a parallel plane diode are described. These show how the steady state is set up from an initial state, or in the case where a virtual cathode is formed, how a quasi-steady state is established. Under retarding field conditions, oscillations are observed which are thought to be related to Barkhausen-Kurz oscillations. Keywords
