Abstract
Data from the F2 of an inter-specific cross between a large race of the house mouse, Mus musculus, with the genes d, b and a, and small Mus bactrianus with the corresponding alleles, D, B and A w, confirmed previous evidence obtained from the back-cross generation that genes influencing general size (weight) are located on the chromosome with the gene for brown coat color, b. Brown segregates were significantly heavier than black, while no such difference was apparent in the case of the other 2 contrasted pairs of characters. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
