A METHOD FOR THE CALCULATION OF DOSE IN THE RADIATION TREATMENT OF HODGKIN’S DISEASE

Abstract
A general method is given for the calculation of absorbed dose to an arbitrary point in an irregularly shaped radiation field. This method is recommended either as a routine method or as a standard method against which more rapid approximate methods may be judged for correctness. In addition, limited consideration is given to the problems of secondary blocking, matching adjacent fields, dose to spinal cord, and dose to the gonads or fetus.
