Abstract
Extraction of the wood of Daniellia ogea with light petroleum gave a new diterpene acid, ozic acid (l; R = CO2H) as well as the corresponding alcohol, ozol (l; R = CH2OH). From the wood of D. oliveri we have isolated daniellic acid, a furanoid diterpene first obtained from the oleo-resin of the same tree. All the diterpenes so far isolated from the genus Daniellia belong to the antipodal stereochemical series with respect to the steroids. Keywords
