Application of the Wesselink method to a non-radially oscillating star

Abstract
The Wesselink method of determining the radius of a variable star is considered in relationship to a non-radially oscillating star. To derive the true radius of the star, the radius derived by the Wesselink method has to be multiplied by a factor which depends upon the l value of the spherical harmonic. For all odd values of l the radius is indeterminate by this method.
