Abstract
Yersinia enterocolitica type 3 was isolated in blood cultures from a previously healthy 81-year-old woman with fever. A high agglutinin titre against this organism was demonstrated in the patient's serum. Antibiotic therapy was given according to sensitivity tests but the outcome was fatal due to uraemia. Keywords
