Abstract
Coagulation times of 4 rabbits, 1 cat, and 14 human subjects were significantly reduced within 30 min. after admn. of the drug by stomach or mouth. In the animals the effect reached a maximum in 60-90 min. after admn. In rabbits doses ranged from 10 to 100 mg. and reduction in coagulation time varied directly with dosage. Humans received either 250 or 500 mg. No differences in prothrombin times were noted. The possible clinical significance of these observations in connection with thrombo-embolic accidents is pointed out. Keywords
