Single-crystal Raman spectra are reported and assigned for (NMe4)CdCl3, NH4CdCl3, (NH3Me)MnCl3, CsCuCl3, CsMnCl3,2H2O, and CsMnCl3,2D2O. Polarised far-i.r. studies have been made for (NMe4)CdCl3. Cscucl3, CsMnCl3,2H2O, and CsMnCl3,2D2O. With the exception of NH4CdCl3, which has a complicated double-chain structure, the results are discussed in terms of factor group analysis. Line group analysis suffices for NH4CdCl3.
