Abstract
A theoretical treatment of the double sheath in a hot cathode low pressure discharge is presented. The current density of thermionically produced electrons is found to have an upper limit. The energy of ions entering the sheath from the plasma region is calculated, and the spatial structure of the double sheath is computed. Keywords
