Abstract
A sample of 18 undergraduates and 18 professional businessmen were tested on Rokeach's Dogmatism Scale (Form E) and a scale which measured attitudes toward marijuana. As predicted, the low dogmatics were significantly more favorable toward marijuana than the high dogmatics. This was interpreted as being due to the tendency of high dogmatics to conform to authority figures. Yet, while the attitudes of the businessmen were more unfavorable than those of the students, their levels of dogmatism did not differ significantly. This discrepancy was explained by the different source of information available to each sample. Keywords
