Abstract
The order of the phase transition within a long polymer molecule in dilute solution brought about by the intramolecular forces is investigated within the context of a lattice model. It is found that the entropy is continuous at the transition but that the density changes discontinuously, implying that the transition has features of both first- and second-order transitions. Keywords
