Abstract
Introduction of two defect lines, one near a wall and another at a distance L, in the d=2 Ising model, results in a rounded first-order wetting transition which becomes sharp as L→∞. All the thermodynamic properties of this transition can be evaluated exactly. Predictions on the finite-size rounding of first-order transitions are verified and confirmed explicitly. Keywords
