Abstract
Multiple equilibrium theory is employed to derive equations for the dependence of number-, mass-, and z-average degrees of polymerization as function of equilibrium constant of self-polycondensation and molar concentrations of monomer and liberated compounds. The results are mathematically identical with those of both probability and kinetic theory. Keywords
