Abstract
The close relationship between the genital and the urinary tracts during development explains the relative frequency of associated anomalies affecting the 2 systems. The urinary malformation is either absence or ectopy of the kidney; in the genital apparatus, there is most often more or less complete agenesia of 1 or both mullerian ducts, more rarely a bicornuate uterus and never a septate uterus in such cases. These associations, which are known from investigations in embryology and experimental teratology, obey certain laws the understanding of which facilitates recognition of these frequent anomalies which are so often clinically unobtrusive. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
