Abstract
The need for a more realistic theoretical description of peak spreading in field-flow fractionation (FFF) is shown. The lengthy derivation necessary to obtain the plate height of an ideal parallel plate column is then described in abbreviated form. Several limiting expressions are derived.Keywords
