Abstract
Inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, as well as the complications of sinusitis, may present a difficult problem for the physician involved in the care of children. The nose and sinuses of a child differ greatly from those of an adult, both anatomically and developmentally.The maxillary sinus may measure only a few cubic millimeters in the neonate and often does not become clinically important until at least 18 to 24 months of age.
