Abstract
The importance of concentrating on those aspects of environmental sanitation having to do with health significance rather than dissipation of energies on attempts to attain mere cleanliness is emphasized. Examination is made of the present epidemiological basis for environmental sanitation, using such examples as the possibility of the spread of poliomyelitis through water. Although'' the author would exclude poliomyelitis on epidemiological grounds from a possible sphere of sanitary control, he directs attention to the possible role of environmental sanitation regulation as an element of the fight on dental caries. There is no sound basis for all measures of sanitation, but this lack should not prevent attempts being made to improve the sanitary standard of the community. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
