# Research is needed into organisation and development as well as cost effectiveness {#article-title-2} EDITOR,—I agree with Sasha Shepperd and Steve Iliffe that the cost effectiveness of hospital at home services is still in question.1 I am less sure that we will know the answer in 1997 when the results of randomised trials become available.
