Abstract
Fluorosis was found in Mecca. Of people born and reared in Mecca 65.04% were caries-free. Two ppm of F in water mottled the teeth of 90.3% of adults and 48% of children. Light, as a possible factor in the evolution of mottling, should be considered. Manganese appeared as the probable agent of brown coloration of mottled enamel because of its presence in different specimens of teeth affected by mottling with F exercising a fixing action. Keywords
