A Study of Ternary Geometrical Models

Abstract
The ternary geometrical model has been summarized, and a general formula has been presented for calculating the ternary Gibbs free energy of mixing in terms of three binary systems. This formula is applicable to any ternary model, including previous models and the many new models presented in this paper. A new nomenclature system is suggested for distinguishing all kinds of models which is very simple and convenient both for use and memory. Finally, the limiting activity coefficient of the third component in a binary solution is discussed in terms of various models.
