Patient's View of Admission to a London Teaching Hospital

Abstract
A survey of the opinions of patients admitted during a 6 month period to a medical firm in King''s College Hospital is presented. Over 80% of these patients have to be admitted to an open general ward where problems such as noise and the control of infection arise due to lack of adequate facilities for segregation of patients. The patient''s opinion on visiting-hours, hospital food, medical teaching, etc., is presented and changes that would improve service from the patient''s point of view are discussed.
