Abstract
The comparative toxicities of P. aeruginosa toxin and diphtheria toxin were examined by measuring inhibition of protein synthesis in cultured animal cells. The kinetics of inhibition of protein synthesis by these toxins were compared in a cell line that is apparently equally sensitive to both toxins. Experiments were also done to determine if the diphtherial CRM 197 protein could compete with P. aeruginosa toxin, inhibiting the action of P. aeruginosa toxin on protein synthesis in cell culture. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
