Abstract
Total serum protein concentration and electrophoretic distribution of serum protein components of the rabbit, guinea pig, and rat were determined by paper electro-phoresis. Serum proteins were again analyzed 4 weeks after BCG immunization. Significant increases in the total protein occurred in the rabbit and guinea pig but not in the rat. A decrease in the alpha-1 globulin in the rat and an increase of this fraction in the guinea pig was noted following BCG. No significant alterations in the other protein fractions were seen in any of the 3 spp. of animals. Keywords
