Abstract
A solitary octocoral (Taiaroa tauhou gen. et sp. nov., family Taiaroidae, new fam.) discovered off the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand is described. Anatomy and histology were studied from sections prepared by the traditional paraffin technique and from specimens embedded in epoxy resin. Sclerites are illustrated by scanning electron micrographs. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
