Abstract
The Landau diamagnetism in the system containing the impurities is discussed. Effects of the impurities are shown to be neglected under the condition ℏ/τ≪η, where τ is the mean free time of an electron and η is its characteristic energy of the order of magnitude of the Fermi energy. Although this condition is very similar to the condition under which the electrical conductivity is calculated correctly by the usual Boltzmann-Bloch equation, it is shown that there is an essential difference in the origin of two conditions.
