Abstract
The factor-structure and the reliability of the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) was investigated in a group of short stay psychiatric patients in a Dutch university clinic. It was found that the BPRS has a good inter-rater reliability. With the exception of a new Disorientation subscale all original five subscales could be replicated when compared with an American study. Keywords
