Abstract
Karyotypes of Rhagoletis berberis (2n = 12) can be distinguished from all host races of the sibling species, R. cerasi (2n = 10+XY), and from the more distantly related R. meigeni (2n = 8+X0). The host races of R. cerasi infesting Lonicera and Prunus could not be distinguished karyotypically, but may be distinguished as species by allozyme differences.
