Abstract
The distant collision part of the Z31-contribution to the stopping of nonrelativistic ions by bound electrons is written in a compact analytical form. Its magnitude is considered for a few species through a structure-dependent electron-ion effective interaction (GSZ potential). Relevance to ion-driven inertial fusion is stressedKeywords
