Abstract
This paper reports the detailed pathologic findings in a fatal case of pneumonitis due to the virus of "Q" fever, and compares them to those in rhesus monkeys and to the findings in fatal human cases in recently reported institutional outbreaks of pneumonitis from other localities. The pneumonic process is characterized by an interstitial lymphocytic and monocytic infiltrate and an intra-alveolar polymorphonuclear and monocytic exudate which shows early organization. The pneumonic process appears to be essentially identical in the human case and in the 8 monkeys, and corresponds closely to that described in the reported human cases. The spleen also shows a similar picture in the human case and in the monkeys. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
