Abstract
Serological surveillance is an important resource to evaluate vaccine programmes, especially for diseases such as rubella, where a sub-optimal programme can lead to an increase in morbidity. A coordinated vaccine policy in Europe is needed and the aim of the European Sero-Epidemiology Network (ESEN2) is to standardise serological surveillance in 22 countries for eight diseases, including rubella. Keywords
