Abstract
Renal function was studied in 12 patients with edema due to cirrhosis of the liver. The mean inulin clearance was found to be 123 ml./ min. and the mean p-aminohippurate clearance, 595 ml./min. The data indicate that the retention of Na, is a consequence of increased tubular reabsorption. Keywords
