Abstract
The paper deals with various technical questions related to the prepn. of standard tuberculin products. It also reports evidence in controlled testing of the products to indicate that cumulated sensitization to the tuberculin itself does not occur, i.e., sensitization resulting from the tuberculin injns., as against sensitization due to tuberculous infection, which was to be expected, although fluctuations in sensitivity were observed in individuals with low degrees of sensitivity which at first sight might be confusing. The authors suggest the existance in purified tuberculins of different fractions of greater or lower specificity, and state "These experiments predict the preparation of a more specific diagnostic reagent." The article is well documented, on the basis of some 3000-odd tests.
