Synthesis of (±)-[2-14C]abscisic acid

Abstract
(±)-[2-14C]Abscisic acid [5-(1-hydroxy-2,6,6-trimethyl-4-oxocyclohex-2-enyl)-3-methylpenta-cis-2,trans-4-dienoic acid] and its 2-trans-isomer, activity 4·9 mc/mmole, have been synthesised from dehydro-β-ionone and methyl [2-14C]bromoacetate.
