Abstract
Values obtained for perinephric and interscapular fats of a Chinchilla rabbit respectively were: lauric, 0.4, 2.4; myristic 5.5, 3.8; palmitic 30.5, 29.0; stearic,5.0, 4.0, dodecenoic 0, 0.1; tetradecenoic 0, 1.4; hexadecenoic 5.4, 6.6; hexadecadienoic 0.2, 0.1; hexade-catrienoic 0.3, 0.2; oleic 31.9, 36.7; linoleic 16.3, 11.8; linolenic 3.1, 2.0; unsaturated C20-22 1.4, 1.9, and unsaponifiable 0, 0. The proportions of the component acids of both fats were very similar, the perinephric fat being more unsaturated. Compared with published values, both fats were similar to those of other tame rodents but differ appreciably from those of a wild rabbit. Keywords
