Abstract
Purcell's test of Adler's opinion concerning the fundamental importance of the very earliest incident an individual can recall is said to be founded on an incomplete understanding of Adler. Additional quotations from Adler show that early and late recollections are essentially of similar significance, but that from the practical, clinical point of view, the earliest recollections do offer certain advantages for diagnosis and particularly for treatment.
