Abstract
The reliability of the accurate readings obtained by the Hilger Vitameter A (described) is demonstrated by comparison with spectrographical detns, and SbCl3 blue values (calculated by a new formula). Values are given for medicinal and crude cod-liver oils, other liver and fish oils, and concentrates of these. Concentrates of medicinal cod-liver oils gave 85-90% of the absorption values of the oils. In absorbing substances the absorption presumably due to vit. A may be removed by exposure to strong light. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
