Abstract
Rate constants for the reactions of N+3 with NO and O2 were measured from thermal energy to approximately 0.3 and 0.4 eV kinetic energy in the ion–reactant center of mass. In both cases there is an initial decrease of the rate constant with increasing energy followed by an increase. The mobility of N+3 in N2 was measured over the range from E/N=30 to 240 Td (1 Townsend unit =10−17 V cm2). In the overlapping region from 30 to 40 Td agreement exists with earlier data. Keywords
