Abstract
The apparatus monitors ingestive behavior of individual, free-feeding dairy cattle confined to a tie-stall. The system consists of an electronic weighing platform connected to a chart recorder which continuously records disappearance of feed from the cow''s feed tray. This permits quantitation of spontaneous meal numbers, meal durations, within-meal rates and inter-meal intervals. Weighing platform construction is described. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
