Abstract
Solutions are found for the stress and deformation fields in an elastically anisotropic half-space, subject to known surface tractions or displacements, provided that these fields are invariant in one direction parallel to the boundary and vanish at infinity in all other directions. The related problems of two elastically different half-spaces whose mutual interface is either welded or freely slipping is then considered, and the solutions applied to certain dislocation configurations in the neighbourhood of the various types of boundary. Keywords
