Abstract
The ground state energy and several properties of the hydrogen molecule are calculated using the method of moments. It is shown that when the expansion functions used on the right are capable of fitting the ground state eigenfunction very accurately, accurate results for the energy and properties are usually, but not always, obtained. Keywords
