Abstract
Radiative lifetimes of a number of excited S and D states in caesium have been measured by laser-induced fluorescence using two-photon excitation. Small differences between the lifetimes of the different fine-structure levels of each D state have been observed for the first time. The results agree with previous determinations of some of the states. Keywords
