Abstract
A thin gold target has been bombarded with 6.0-Mev protons. Inelastically scattered protons, corresponding to Coulomb excitation of the 545-kev, 279-kev, and 268-kev levels in , have been observed in a magnetic spectrograph. The angular distribution of the inelastic groups seems to follow the semiclassical theory.
