Abstract
Synthetic diets producing good but not maximal growth are described. In 1 case the growth curve approximates closely but does not equal that of control rats on a mixed diet. Dietary requirements of the rat vary considerably at different phases of its existence. Two diets described provide for good growth (almost maximal), but no young were born. Another diet giving less good results for growth was adequate for reproduction. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
